NOTICE TO THE USER
This evaluation test was designed to measure the understanding of selected
fundamental electronics concepts and to help identify problem areas. The test
does not measure the overall understanding of electronics nor does it measure
the quality of a particular electronics program. The topics and individual questions
were chosen carefully to cover concepts that typical electronics programs have
included in their curriculums. To ensure that the test was not too long, it
was necessary to limit the number of questions (45) and topics to a manageable
size. It is therefore possible that some familiar topics were not included.
Every effort has been made to minimize the need to remember formulas, the need
to follow memorized procedures, or the need to solve complex problems. The whole
test can be completed in two hours but it is recommended that about three hours
is given so that everyone has adequate time to answer all the questions. It
is up to individual school to decide the academic level at which students are
capable of taking the test.
